The pics above show kind of a blue, but it really is a purple color. Some of you may remember that I detonated my 454 last September. Some parts were still reusable, but the engine block and everything inside it was wrecked. I am reusing my Lightning water jacketed headers. It is going in my 1998 Ultra bow rider. Here are a few pics of the boat.

This last picture is before the engine hatch was modified for the blower, but the color of the boat (& now the new engine) is more realistic.

mud duck, Did you paint the engine yourself? If so what kinda paint did you use. That Engine Color is Awesome. Ive been debating wheather to paint mine. This post is a motivator.

No, I had a marine boat mechanic do the whole build. The valve covers were already purple, and he really went all the way. Even the motor mounts and bell shroud are painted purple. Last summer I also added a set of those Dana hydraulic hinges to the engine hatch, so I guess I have a theme going here.
Now, I am very anxious to get out on the water soon. :D

That is one sexy engine. You have got to luv the Code Blue Racing Blue on that Chevy. I saw that the Heartbeat stopped on you. I am sorry to see the carnage. That new engine should hold up now.

now you have to take off that cover and show that beauty off man !!! Have that blower sticking out..... that would look sick !! And that 454 looks good man, you did quite a job on it, almost makes me want to start a thread "Most Grenaded Motor" :D

It's not buying the parts, or time it takes for the repair. I just hate to hear THE NOISE THAT MAKES! Ouch :( New motor looks great, Best of luck.

Your motor really looks nice. I hope it runs as good as it looks!!!!
The best part about the paint, if you look real hard, it is almost a Ford blue. J/K:D :D :D :D :D

Looks great Mud Duck. With that kind of power now you may need to look at some pump work to finalize the project. I would start with a droop or snoot. It gives these heavy boat lots of lift with good power.
Good Luck,

Well, my pump has an Aggressor bowel, a droop snoot, an Ultimate Wear Ring, and a new impeller all from last May (2003). So hopefully it will be okay for now. I just want to get out on the water damn it!! :D
