Does anybody know what was on fire sat afternoon.WE were driving down to Parker around 3:30 in the afternoon and there was huge black smoke, looked like it was comming from the water just north of cattail cove area.May have been on land but from the hwy it sure looked like it was on the water.

We were at Moabe a few years ago when they had that big brush fire that jumped the river from Topock to the Sandbar. We took a boat ride to check it out, what a weird deal. The fire was scary and beautiful at the same time and the amount of heat that was coming from it was incredible.

Saw some Forest Service rigs bedding down at the Ramada for the night, so it must be a brush fire nearby.

Sure was alot of dark black smoke and sure looked close to the water or in the water from the hwy.Glad to hear it wasn't a boat.

We were anchored in Steamboat and thought it was a boat cause of all the black smoke. Glad to see that we were wrong, and that it was just a brushfire!

We were running back to the Nautical when we noticed the smoke. It was a raging brush fire, flames really roaring. Called 911 but they had already been called. It was right near some people camping but hadn't touched their site and they were fine. Didn't see anyone fighting the fire, but about 10 minutes later saw lots of white smoke so someone must have gotten some water on it.......
