Our flag is on our house every day. From the day the war began.
Salute.

We fly a flag every single day. My family is very respectful of the military. Make sure you treat the flag right when you hang it. Never let it touch the ground either.

So is mine. Make sure if you leave it out at night it is lit. And if it starts to Fade replace it. I have replaced mine atleast 3 times since 9/11.

For those of you that are unable to fly your flag at half mast because it is fixed to the staff, there is an acceptable alternative.
Attach a piece of black ribbon to the top of the staff. The ribbon should be as wide and as long as the flag's red and white stripes. This is universally accepted as a proper display of mourning for a fixed flag.

We always fly the flag at home and the river.
We put the black ribbon on the flag at home but I didn't feel it was enough.
I took one of my wife's black cowboy hats and put that on top of the pole too.
Drove the hippies across the street nuts.:D :D :D

I have had a flag flying at my home ever since 9/11. I just bought a nice new flagpole and flag to replace the one that's been there for a while. It needs to be retired.
I put two 50w low voltage spot lights on the flag and I fly it 24/7
