no...but i believe dry it is about 4600 lbs, and i had about 3/4 tank on sat goin down, Mrs Frenchie..115lbs - lightweight! and a 152 qt ice chest full! Even goin back up to needles in the p.m. with a little chop which seemd to help i was pretty solid on 69-70 mph on the gps (max of 70.7) about 71 on the speedo! but i hear all the shockwave guys tell the same speeds with the 25..now i believe it!;)

rivercrazy
06-14-2004, 04:12 PM
I think the mfg lists the boat in the 4200-4400 pound range with a big block. Mine probably weights at the higher end of that range cause fo the stereo.....:D

Maybe getting a little Technical here, but wouldn't a down river gps speed also include speed of the current? maybe a mile or two per hour. I'd expect a gps reading to be higher going downriver in the current than across the lake.

06-14-2004, 04:15 PM
never mind, just read your last post. Solid number up stream also

rivercrazy

Not sure what Frenchie did for his GPS numbers but I measured the current where I did my runs and adjusted my top end numbers to eliminate the river current.:D :D

Current should be irrelevant to a GPS unit. The satellites only note how fast you are traveling, they don't know if you are headed up or down. Standard pitot tube speedo would be incorrect by the current speed though, you are right on that part.
I have the same motor in my Lavey 21 and am just bumping 70....that Tremor must be light!

What's the deadrise on the Tremor. Just curious .

FRENCHIE
06-14-2004, 04:23 PM
just looked at the book and brochure and i guess.....that all them just under 4500lbs Tremors (if 4500lbs is light!?) must be light then!!;) ;)

Got it backwards, if you're just floating in the current, gps will register some speed, maybe a mile or two per hour. But the Pito Speedo will show zero.

The 25 bottom is quite efficient. Its a single step 24 degree bottom at the transom.
If your traveling downriver in the current and say the current is 2.5mph, the boat will go 2.5 faster land speed. That is why you need to adjust the numbers to account for the current

I'll take a demo ride and buy ya a beer any time :D
Those are nice boats, I checked out beer hunter's boat while we were at the sandbar last weekend....nice nice nice...
That has got to be a very efficient bottom since it seems MOST boats w/496HO tap 65 on a good day and less on average, and all the tremor owners are saying 70.
Now before this turns into a holy way, when I say most I mean lots....Mine, the Kachina, Essex, etc.
Granted the 25 rage and bullet (also nice nice rides) will top 70

Hey Mark. How ya been?
The best numbers I've seen were from a labbed 25P Mirage Plus 3 blade and a labbed 24P Bravo1 4 blade. Both of them were labbed by York Prop's in Fullerton. The 24P bravo 1 is the better of the two for daily driving. The 3 blade will vent a little in the turns and is not the best for carrying heavier loads.
I think the labbed prop will give you 2-3 mph:D

Is it that the sound quality of the speakers is good but you can't hear it that well cause they are mounted low in the boat?
I have one pair down low with two other pairs mounted up pretty high. To mount them up high, you have to notch the side gunnel on the hull to make depth room for the speaker magnet/motor structure. The ones mounted up high really do make a difference in sound volume and sound quality. Here's a pic of them mounted higher

If I had to do it all over again, the one change I would make is to locate the grab handle where the 6X9 is and move the speaker where the grab handle is. The 6X9's are a bit louder than the 6.5's but the 6.5's sound a little cleaner.
If you added 2 pairs of component speakers up high in the side panel powered by another amplifier, I bet you would be really pleased.....:D

I saw your boat this weekend, it looks great. The fastest I have gotten mine up to with a 496HO is 71. GPS. I think that is a good speed for your rig. Are you runnin a 24 pitch prop?
