Is anybody else heading to Laughlin for the 4th? We're taking my '74 Tahiti out there - staying at Ramada Express. We'll probably head down to Needles to launch and head to Havazoo for a day.
If you see me out there, stop me and say "hi"!

Bk,
If worse come to worse we will stick a rebiuld kit in the pump and a droop and a loader and call it good. I can always pull it out again latter. No big deal. I have an engine if I need one. 3hrs work to pull out of the truck. Half a day to put the pump back together. Shit if I start now I will be ready for sat. Bk you have won a free case of beer. You have to come out and claim it.
460 crank I need one. The only 429 pistons avalable are cast with.120 dish. So we are talking big bucks for custom pistons. I have a few quotes $600 - $900 plus pins. Hell I can get a stroker kit already balanced for a for 460 for a $1000.

Got back from Laughlin on Monday evening. Trip from hell out there and back - one flat on the trailer and MANY overheating problems with the Cherokee there and back Definately gotta get a new radiator before I do that again.
Some minor problems with the boat - as expected as I didn't have time for a "shakedown run" before the trip, but nothing major. The only big incident was when I was stupid enough to let my friend's idiot, inbred, redneck boyfriend drive the boat and he managed to spin it after going over the wake from one of those F-ing wakeboard boats at ~50mph. Nobody was hurt, but we took on quite a bit of water over the transom. Luckily that 1100gph bilge pump worked like a charm! Had the whole engine compartment empty within a couple minutes. Oh well, lesson learned - I'll never let anybody else drive my boat again.
On a side note, the guy is just a f-ing asshole! I was talking to this really cute hispanic girl at the bar the first night there, and he comes up and says "So, are you going to F*** just him or all 3 of us?" He's lucky I wasn't close enough to repeatedly punch him in the throat! What a dick!
All in all, it was a good time, though. Didn't make it down to Havazoo. We went to the river for only a couple hours, but it was too rough with all the lake-lice, so we spent the rest of the weekend on lake Mojave. Wake boarding, tubing, etc. Good times, good times. Too bad it was too choppy everywhere for any top-speed runs. Maybe next time. Gotta definately save up some money first though. The casino's were not kind to me!
