I didnt research the facts on this but its interesting if the numbers are correct. Sorry if this is a repost, havent been on in awhile.
************************************************** *
There were 39 combat related killings
in Iraq during the month of January.....
In the fair city of Detroit there were
35 murders in the month of January.
That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq.
When some claim President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, state the following ...
FDR...
led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost,
an average of 112,500 per year.
Truman...
finished that war and started one in Korea,
North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost,
an average of 18,334 per year.
John F. Kennedy...
started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson...
turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost,
an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton...
went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent,
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter
three times by Sudan and did nothing.
Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
In the two years since terrorists attacked us
President Bush has ...
liberated two countries,
crushed the Taliban,
crippled al-Qaida,
put nuclear inspectors in Libya,
Iran and North Korea
without firing a shot,
and captured a terrorist who slaughtered
300,000 of his own people.
The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking, but...
It took less time to take Iraq
than it took Janet Reno to take the
Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51 day operation.
We've been looking for evidence of
chemical weapons in Iraq for less
time than it took Hillary Clinton to
find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division
and the Marines to destroy the Medina
Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to
call the police after his Oldsmobile
sank at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!
The Military moral is high!

Some of the statements are spun a bit... but essentially accurate.

That's a nice spin but not necessarily true. The way it is written your small treatise indicates WWI and WWII were just incursions by an agressive President. The truth is that a decision had to be made. Our long time European allies were under risk of total invasion and without our involvement Europe would have surely been lost to fascists and the Third Reich. Had we lost Europe those many years ago there more likely than not, be no America with the freedom you now enjoy.
Viet Nam is another story. The problems with American support of the military action split this country in two. We have a chance to avoid that with Iraq but if we do not get a grip, it will turn into another Viet Nam which would be devastating to the already uneasy political climate here.
We did not take Iraq. They sat back and let us come in. The real war has only just begun. They are like the Indians that led the cavalry into a dead end canyon. We have hardly "taken" anything other than a chance. Nothing has been accomplished evenly remotely close to a victory at this time.
Also, at the time Clinton was offered Bin Laden's head on a stick there was no evidence Bin Laden had made any attack on America or Americans. He was suspect (Indeed) but we are far to politically correct to take someone out, we just "suspect." That is true for any administration and not just Clinton.

Traci, it has been posted but it is well worth repeating. Just goes to prove the libs just don't get it. Thanks.

:Like I said there was spin there, but the facts were essentially correct. For instance, the North Koreans didn't attack the US, but they did attack South Korea, one of our allies and more or less a protectorate of the US following WWII. They didn't attack the US, but might as well have.
As far as WWII, Germany was attacking our allies, and one of their allies attacked the US. Japan got Germany to declare war on the US, and in doing so, we declared war on them in turn. Makes you wonder if we would have declared war if Germany hadn't.
Regardless, the facts are essentially correct, but you always have to look for spin, and I'd say there is plenty in there.

This should read: "There were 39 AMERICAN combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January..... "
Who knows how many of them we have killed. Not that I don't see and agree with your point.
