I need an old crank out of a bbc to use as a core exchange. For some reason they dont want mine, something about it needing to be in one piece or something. Anyway if somebody in So. Cal. (I'm in Riverside) area wants to get rid of one, cheap, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

How much do they want for the core charge? Might be cheaper and quicker to just pay it.
Do you plan to step up from cast to forged?

I've already got the new one. The core charge was $350, the cost on the crank was $140, yes it is forged wish I had done it last time we built the motor.

If they charged $350 for the core, I'm pretty damn sure they will be expecting a FORGED crank as a core, not just an old cast one.

I divorced an old crank.
You can have her, free.
She was a BBC, also.

That 427 steel crank is actually a useable uni, but I think it is a .010/.020".
