new littlefield blower intake?ports way off?

i just bought a new tall deck littlefield blower intake and it is so far off from matching any intake gasket that i have seen. It will need to be welded on one side and ground out on the other. Anyone ever seen this? Is this normal? The gasket and bolt holes line up great on the heads. What do you do?

sounds like a bad casting to me. I know mine is not like that. Call Mert and send it back.

Sounds like the damn machinist didn't set it "on the pins" correctly.

What do you expect from a machinist. :D
I had the same problem with my last motor, but it was the heads, not the intake. I corrected the problem by changing the intake, though. Good ol' AB stick. :rolleyes:
I'd send it back. No reason to have to deal with that on a new intake.
