ok, they have been in for a year, just at the tip, there is alot of black carbon crap all around them by now. once I take the nut off, what is the trick to getting them out? I still want to keep them and put them back in, but just keep them out for my river trips coming up.
Thanks.

Wick it = KICK IT!!! Take the bolts out, point the exhaust at the bank and floor it!!! Just make sure that no one is standing directly behind you though. They might turn into projectiles.

Just make sure somebody has a Catchers Glove on  :D
Did you try spraying WD-40 around them everytime you come home from a trip out you should spray the inside of your headers with WD-40 anyways:D :D Keeps them from rusting out;) :D

Actually, no. But thanks for the advice, I need to go buy a can anyways, I will buy a spare to keep with me and spare after I pull it out of the water. I rarely run water through the headers though, but when I do...WD, thanks for the advice.

Soak em w/ Wd over night and get a slide hammer in there and yank em out, you will ruin em probably, but who cares baffles suck anyways.

You can also take a rubber mallett and beat the area around the baffles, that heps break loose the crud build up between the collector and the baffles!..:)

Flatrat: I will see if I can pick up some while I am at ACE tommorrow. Thanks.
Hud: SoCal's local lakes are strict and require them.

When I got my new set of pipes, I tried to take the baffles out of the pipes that were on the boat when I bought it. I had to cut the pipes to get em out. After a day at the lake, I take mine out and stand them on end to drain and dry them out. Then I coat the inside of the pipes with WD.

No, He was drifting down from the dam and a cop pulled him over to the side. The cop gave him a decibal test and when below 2500 rpm, we aren't above 86 decibals. The cop told him that it was going to be a $172 if he gets caught.(It was a while ago but I'm pretty sure it was $172)
