About 13 years ago I was looking to buy a nice mini daycruiser for the river. I stumbled across a boat, the hull is an IONA and it came with a 460 and a nice Berkeley pump. From what I gather it looks like I have the only one around. I've done numerous searches on the internet looking for information on my boat but so far I've found nothing on the name... Once I saw a "Glencoe" hull that was almost identical to mine with the same lines on it. Has anyone else heard of this brand??
Thanks...
here are some photos..

Maybe a Kona?
Its only one key away on the keyboard?
Nice looking boat. Tahitti, Ranger, Kona, and a ton of others made a very similar boat in the late 70s and early 80s. Glencoe could be another one of those companies.

Maybe its a Kona and part of the k is broke off so it looks like an I, or maybe there is such a thing as an Iona, who knows?

Dan, that's a sharp looking boat. Really like the interior.
What are the first 3 letters of the Hull ID # ? That's how you can identify the manufacturer.

I`m with the K missing parts. But maybe he thought that too and the papers say Iona

That is a Kona my uncle had one!!!
It was a little heaveir layup than a Tahiti. The bow on the Tahiti alway would flex.

Dan... My brother recently purchased one of those boats also, & it IS an IONA boat. His boat has the Ford 460 in it with the Berkley jet also. I believe his is a 21' footer. It looks identical to yours, except for the colors. Unfortunately, I too have not been able to find any info on these boats. On the internet, or anywhere else for that matter. But I did want to clarify that it is indeed a "IONA" boat. It's very clear on the ID tag. Sorry I couldn't be of more help thou... JT2Fast4u

Guys, Thanks for all of your replies... I've been hearing the whole "It's a Kona" for years , but in the back of my mind I remember the previous owner "Chris Brown" of Rialto, CA stating that it's an Iona...
JT2Fast4u, I would love to see some photos of your brothers boat, I've spent the last few years rebuilding mine and have tons of pictures of the rebuild that might help out your brother. Mine is a 1977, wood over glass....
Thanks....

It looks like that MIC has been reassigned. The current company was only been in business a few months in 1995. The original user of that MIC looks to have been Iona Yachts of Santa Ana. I'm betting that the "DOB" in this line, "Comments: IONA YACHTS, DOB 11/80, 1736 E. BORCHARD, SANTA ANA CA 92705", probably should have been "OOB" as in "out of business"?

I called a company on 1800 E. Borchard in Santa Ana, oddly enough he makes performance cats, he's been at his address for 20 years and didn't know of any other boat manufature on his street.. I also call the number in FL and got a private residence..
Thanks again for all of the info you guys found... :) I'll keep looking....

It is not a Kona. I new someone with a Kona ,and that was an exact copy of my 20 spectra. This Iona boat has a totally diferent deck.
