No, too many glasses of wine (we were at a wine tasting) and he leaned into the turn. The guy driving was "happy" as well.
Oh, and we had 7 people on it...................LOL:D

Bust out your Dremmel tool and engrave your hull numbers on the spike and box anchor.
I did it so the folks that steal them know exactly what boat it came from. Or the thief might move on to the next one's because marked stuff don't sell too well at a garage sale.

I got mine for Memorial day and I was jazzed. Guy at Miller's said the small one woud be fine but it was windy that Fri. before MD and the anchor did not hold. I have a 23 Chaparral, kinda high profile and dry weight of 4500 lbs. You know the boat weighs at least a thousand lbs more with gas and stuff. I would recommend the mediam size. They do work great though.

I have both and they just "hold." They are the best!

I have both and love them. Never had a problem with having to reset them in wind or anything else. Once they are in they are in.

i just bought one also paid 120 at west marine didnt get the spike since i dont need it.
After seeing a couple of friends set their anchor quickly with less rope on a rocky shore with current i was convinced to get one.I always used a danforth and have always had good succes except for the rocky gravel bottoms. But i will still use it for the sand, mud, grassy bottoms.I now stay in needles so anchoring in the rocks is needed

Kind of a funny story... I was talking with Ryan the other day who owns Slide Anchor and asked him how the name "Slide Anchor" came to be rather than calling the company "box anchor"... He told me he originally made just the spikes (slide hammer design) and didn't have or make anchors. The anchor he had was so shitty in holding power he decided to make his own... long story shortened, after several design changes and modifications the box anchor we know today came to be. Kind of an oxymoron he said on the company name but he just never changed it. Slide and anchor really don't belong in the same sentence but it hasn't slowed down anchors sales so he let it be.
I can tell you first hand these anchors and spikes work better than any other anchor I've seen. (except my 427 crankshaft design :D). But the box anchor is much easier to carry and deploy. I highly recommend them.

From the responses on here, it sounds like he could have named it "Piece of shit anchor" and it still would sell.:D It's cool to see a design work so well. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that he may have cornered the market on this one.;)

Bought my box anchor from Rex and used it for the first time this weekend, it worked awesome, the winds were pretty godd this afternoon and the boat didn't budge an inch...
