I recently installed some rex stainless exhaust tips and the back end of the tips dont line up perfectly with the rubber hose coming out of the logs. I got the standard length tips to add silencers later for local lakes. Question - is the angle of the tip going to affect performance at all? I was recommended to get the straight tips, not the angled flange to help reduce splash back though the exhaust.
Here's a pic for a better description -

If you can't get it lined up try the bellows type, from Trident marine exhaust, http://www.tridentmarine.com/stage/wetex_elbows.htm
I have the Trident straight silicone hose and it's great stuff, real flexible and looks much better than the black stuff,

they have it in red and blue and black glossy too,

Angle of tip will have no effect on performance. In about 95% of cases the straight ones line up the best. If you can't get them to line up let me know and we'll switch em for 12ยบ flanges if you feel they'll work better.

I got them working with what I have, but there's about an inch of a negative angle on the inside of the hose that might be keeping engine water from exiting - I could probably just pick up a different hose though.
