Just wondering if any of you actually sleep on your boats? I know a lot of you got closed bows because you like the way they look - do you use the bed for sleeping? :D
Curious to know if sleeping on the boat is a realistic alternative to paying the big hotel bills.
How about sleeping in the boat and camping at the lake (barbecuing and/or sleeping under the stars on the shore)?

Weather permitting its the only way to go, gets a little warm in the Summer and a little crazy during the Monsoons out here but still a great way to enjoy the lake.

Many times but never planned it that way ? Once the day is done and we are anchored some where and we hit a certain level of drinking we look at each other and say " were not going home are we " Great way to spend the night but some of those sunrise drag the boat out and head home can be a little ruff !

In the late 70's and all the 80's I used to camp with my friends and slept in my 20 spectra. I sleep in my 24' [lots of room inside compared to a lot of offshore style boats much larger] when launch at marinas on okanagan lake and $ 20 cdn overnight is a steal compared to 180 in peak time at any hotel/motel up there :)

Only one time so far, but that is the plan. I hope to do it more once I am without child. He whines too much to take hime somewhere without a place for me to escape. My wife and I tossed out an anchor in a nice cove across from Copper canyon and watched a movie, broke in the boat and went to sleep. We got up early and buzzed down to the springs for breakfast. That was very nice.

My wife and I slept on my Bayliner once in Mission Bay. It stunk like gas and everything was cold and wet. It was a 16' open bow with a three cylinder outboard.....but it had those fold down seats. It sure seemed like a better idea than it turned out to be.
I did see some chicks skinny-dipping......but they were fat. :yuk:

I sleep better on my boat than in a hotel room. Waking up on the water is great too.

"Sleeping?" Yea, that's what I call it.
Something boats are always good for.
I found a nice hidden spot at OP6C in'03.
