Hi All... I have what appears to be a "Dooley" oil pan on my 455 Olds motor, & I was wondering if there's any way to tell the size, or capacity of it, by just looking at it, or by possibly measuring it? It looks like it appx. 5 1/2 to 6 inches deep all the way across it. Would anyone know how many quarts that this pan can hold? I have heard that it's probably either a 10qt. or 14 qt. pan, but I'm not sure. Thanks for any info on this. I appreciate it... JT2Fast4u

If it has a full length, full depth sump with no kickouts, it is a 10 quart. Should look like this:

This is the 14 quart:

Thanks, OLDSQUIRT, for clearing that up for me. Looks like I have the 10qt. pan. Guess I'll have to make some new marks on the dipstick, since it says it's full after only 5 qts. Thanks again for the information, it's much appreciated... JT2Fast4u
