Did you get this fgured out yet? Are ou talking no display on the front panel display, for touch screen operation, playing movies, or screen saver?

Did you hook up the parking brake wire?
And is your parking break engaged?

The VTR screen is just an input mode. It is designed to let you run a vcr, tv tuner, video game, etc.. on the brain of the unit you will see a set of audio/video inputs.
If you come by tomorrow I will be able to look at it for you (free)
Give me a call at my shop (909)481-8411

Hey Bill,
Is your shop on the 15 between the 210 and 10?

Exactly. The reason it's black is because you don't have another source installed... Just like Bill stated....
Playstation anyone? ;) :D

and are they worth it when you put the 5.1 sournd unit in

You need a center channel for 5.1 surround sound. The processor will have an output for it. You can use whatever speaker you want, but speakers like this makes it easy to stash into a dash console. It's 1.5 din and designed to replace a dash pocket... Othere mfg's have similar products. ALpine has an SBS0715 center channel system, Kenwood has, or use to have, a KSC900CTR... Like I said, you can use whatever you want, but unless you want to do some dash or console customization, something like this is an easier route for the do-it-youselfer. :)
I prefer to use products that have the same tweeter accross the front.... For example, a long time ago (when 5.1 first entered cars..okay I'm old) we did a system for a customer who had Boston 3 way pro seperates in the doors and we put a Boston pro 4" component into the dash for the center....
