At the risk of causing an uproar, I have an actual boating question. :) Who makes those transom mounted hatch switches. Didn't they have a switch that swaps the existing drive switch with a two switch replacement.

If the ones on Dana don't match, try Eddie marine. Not sure if they are dfferant or the same

Are you telling me that they have a switch that can coincide with the outdrive switch that will raise and lower the engine hatch?
I get so sick of having to walk around the lifted engine hatch to get backin the boat. Tell me is this for real? :220v: :220v:

Mount it right next to your trim/drive switch on your transom and be sure to use a hot lead so you don't have to get into the boat and turn on the Perko.

The drive switch that I had on my Eliminator Eagle was a single switch, but I know they had the same style in a dual switch. The switch was next to the swim step

River Dave is the one that manufactured the twin switch. One is for the drive and one is for the hatch. If you have a hatch ram, you need a double pole double throw switch. If you have hatch hinges, you need a single pole double throw switch. I just wired one up this past weekend as a matter of fact. They open the hatch from the back as well as raise and lower the drive. Nice product!

I have the dual ram. Anyone have a link for this? I just keep finding replacements for the existing drive switch, but no accessory.

Just go with something like this from Dana Marine. They will sell you the switch panel engraved how you want it (drive/hatch), and with the proper switches

I used to make them, but don't anymore... I'd probably Buy one off Dana Boats if it was me, I think they might have one of the dual CEM ones laying around. I keep thinking I oughta start making these things again, becuase I get hit up about once a week for them.

Danny, since you posted those, do you have some for sale? I like the CEM one's, but Dave doesn't have anymore.

I would be interested in either one, and if it was powdercoated white, better yet :)
But then again, it's no big deal, a Dana one would work just fine

When I first saw them I didn't really like the idea. I have never had a boat that has a trim or hatch switch on the outside. After being around boats that do, I don't think that I would order another boat without one. If you are at the sandbar and need to get out bouys or ropes it is a pain in the ass to climb into the boat, open the hatch, etc. With these switches it is very simple and is always from the exterior.
Not only are they practical, they also add a bit of Bling to the back of the boat. We installed one on an eliminator 236 and had it powdercoated exactly to match the hardware. Turned out looking really nice. :)
