Went in on Friday, the day before a three day weekend. Sitting in the chair as they stick a long needle into my jaw the numb the area to be worked on. They then start the drillen, and the pullen and the poken and so forth. He then gets to the root and starts filing away at that, then he reaches the NERVE. SOB that hurt, two hours and fifteen min. later he says hes all done and to come back on Friday 7/9 to do the crown and wrap this up.
So, all weekend long I am in servere pain, I can't eat, and I can't drink and worst of all, when I sleep I clench my teeth, so now I can't even sleep. I call on Tues to speak with them only to find out that the dr. did not complete the procedure.
I am going in today as an urgent patient to have the procedure completed.
:frown:

I have had 3 in the last couple of years. Had to go to a specialist for all 3, because my roots are like 1 1/2 times deeper than normal. The first one took 2 trips. The guy didn't have files long enough to get to the bottom of the roots. He had to order the longer files and I had to go back the following week. Good times.
I hope you feel better.

We use Dental Associates of Corona. They are located at the 15 and Magnolia. I know that's a drive from Fontana, but they are awesome. My daughter knocked out a tooth (root and all) on a Saturday, we called and our dentist was there doing paperwork.
He called in a dental assitant and took care of her for us. I know our old dentist would have said sorry, closed.

I'll see if i can find the name of the guy I use to use. He's in Norco. Did an awesome job and was relatively painless. I have had fillings that hurt worse then the root canal. I changed my main derntist after that because my main dentist did my crown and drilled on some teeth to get my bite even. When he did the drilling he gave me NO Xylocaine!!! You think you have felt pain? Let some jerk off drill your teeth without anything to numb them. That sh*t HURTS!!

THIS is the ultimate cause of all that pain in root canals. When the dentist brings out what looks like a tiny toilet bowl brush, clench your jaw, clench your fists, clench your butt - the "root reamer" is gonna hurt like a MUTHA!

As a dental specialist (prosthodontist) I will tell you after the fact , you should go to an Endodontist for your RCT. He would have probably taken an hour and you would have been done. They are also trained to handle post-operative pain and complication a whole lot better than your GD. Sorry I can't help you in Ca., but if your ever in the phoenix area, call. Good luck:D

yeah I kinda got that, I had a dentist that acutally gave me a shot of novicane in the canal area and then finished up removing the nerves and root. Although it hurt when the needle went into the canal area, I felt nothing after that.

You need to see a specialist. Endodontist for root canals. Same cost, 1/2 the time and likely a better job. How many other dentists are on the boards?

Sorry about your experience. You need to see an endodontist next time you need a root canal in the future. I would be happy to refer you to someone of quality reputation in your area, but I can't promise they will be a Delta provider. Delta Dental does not always mean Quality. Please e-mail me personally. I am in Temecula, which is too far for you, but check out my web-site smiletemecula.com, if you want to see some of the more well know people I treat. Good luck, Later, doc:( :o :D
