Where is this shoe tree?? I might be coming down in September and head out to the River. Where is it in relation to the 29 palms turnoff? Town of Rice? Railroad tracks on the bend?
Can I type in "Shoe Tree ~ CA" on Mapquest??:D :D :D

Now some jackass's are throwing tires on the dead tree, I guess they want it to fall

Ghost town of Rice, a few miles east of the double tracks....sticks out like a sore thumb, even at night.
.
JAS0502---eastern part of 62 after it intersects with the 177(aka Rice Road)....I'd estimate about 20-30 miles east of that intersection.

Yes there is, but it's not the same tree! ;) Nor is it the "Official Shoe Tree" everyone speaks of. :D

Sounds like they are setting it up for the last roast by stacking tires on it.

I suppose putting tires on it is considered some type of SHOE, just for your car instead. I don't think it is a smart thing to do though, that poor tree is over burdened.
ModVP, thanks for the image of this once healthy tree.
