Getting ready to install Cirelo mag.Sense the manifold bore is larger than seat boss of the mag,I picked up a collar,shim kit.What's the correct way to ensure that the mag don't bottom out in the oil pump?Thanks in advance.

If the pan is off, then you can just install the mag and then check the oil pump drive shaft and see if it has some up and down play.
If the pan is on, I remove the distributor gear and use no distributor base gasket, set the mag in all the way down and make sure it's not bottoming on the shaft.

Yep that's the way to do it!...I usually put the pan on last so I don't have to pull the gear off the distributor!..:) :D
