Thats pretty good. I have a speedo (was in the boat when I bought it, along with the pickup tube) but my pickup isn't fixed. It can be pulled up if it hits something. Usually, after one blast (usually taking me over 45mph) the pickup doesn't read anymore because its been pushed back from the water.

I lost one of those regularly.
buy a Recoil bracket pickup tube. indestructable.
or just step up into this century and get a GPS

I had some new (trim):D hold the boat at the ramp...I told her to keep the back in the deep water...when I came back from parking the truck the rear of the boat was facing the ramp...
I didn't notice or think twice but I guess it snaped off clean at that time. By the time I noticed the speedo wasen't working it was by-by.
HB. if you take a look at Medallion's site they have some very nice pitot pick-up's. I was actually surprised how accurate my speedo was compared to the GPS.
