I have more that I'll reduce and upload to the member gallery when I get a chance. If you see any that you want full size originals of, let me know and I'll be glad to email them to you.
By the way, if any of you other Powell-goers ever see the DEEZ NUTTS out there on the water, be sure to stop by and say hello. You won't find two better examples of how gracious and friendly the extended hot-boating family can be!

those are just about some of the most beautiful pics of a lake i've ever seen thanks for the tour. Looks like i've just added another lake to the list of places to go and i think i'll even bump it up to the top of the list. definately won't be able to make it this season but will have to arrange plans to be there next summer for sure!!!

We just got back from Powell today after meeting up with Summerlove and his gang. The trip was great, and the company was the greatest. The Summerlove family is the best you will ever meet. I will post some of our pics when we get back home, dial up in Havasu is just too slow. Deez, we were hoping to meet up with you, but never crossed paths. Summerlove had his houseboat set up in Kane Wash.
Deez, I wish you hadn't posted those pics, I was already going through withdrawls, and now I'm about to seize. Rat bastard! :D

Phebus, I saw a Carrera deck boat headed north near Gunsight on Sat about 10:30ish am, thought to myself "hmmm, that looks like Phebus' boat, I wonder..." Nah, couldn't be. At the time I was following DEEZ NUTTS looking for Summerlove. Guess we should have followed you! Oh well, next time...
DEEZ, I'm still in negotiations about the big weekend. That also happens to be our 10th anniversary and I'm not sure she wants to go to the lake for our special weekend!

Damn phebus, I thought about checking Kane also but didnt. Summerlove asked about some of our spots and I bet you guys where close to one of them. We rolled through Padre canyon looking. Next time we will coordinate better and make a day out of sight seeing.
DrewDown, July 23-25 is our big bash. I am usualy only on the lake weekends so I would be seeing you at the end of your trip.

It's been a couple months now. A few more are loose too, and some new ones are starting to poke through. Inflation has hit the tooth fairy industry pretty hard since I was a kid...

Yea, Summerlove (Rick) set up in the back of Kane wash, across from Cookie Jar Butte, right between the two rock islands,on your reccomendations. Basically had the whole cove to himself, very nice!!

Curious....my parents have a house there and we really want to hit Powell and it would be nice to break up the driving time with a nights rest in between. Thanks. Mmmmmm, Black Mountain Gold, pretty decent swill for a little local brewery. Sure, just let me know, it's usually not too hard to talk me into going out for a beer and some tasty grub!
It's about 4.5 hours to Page, give or take a stop or two. It's doable for a weekend trip.

Thanks Doghouse for the great pics. They really make me want to go to Powell. Hows the weather out there? compared to Mohave. Is camping bearable? Can you light a bonfire? I would love to boat in. Houseboat would be ideal but I am cheap, I mean on a budget.
Thanks again,

Deb, we don't know yet. Some of the crew are going early to secure a huge beach. They may move a few times until its locked up then make calls. Will be in Padre canyon or Kane wash area. I am not shure when I can look for you on Lone Rock. Maybe early Fri 23 or mid day Sat. If I see you on the water I will be honkin' like a freight train so stop. Then we will board your vessel like pirates and loot your cooler! :D

Free4all, It gets warm during the afternoon 100 or so at this time of year. The water is perfect for swimming. Monsoons are kicking up so a quick rain storm in the afternoon cools it down nice. Great time for a nap, or offshore like boating. Bonfires are manditory. Just resist the urge to light the whole pile of dry tumble weeds in the back of the cove. Spectacular fire, but the Fire dept recived a call of a houseboat on fire. They dont like "code 3" across the lake in the dark. Citation was reduced to "destruction of resources" and a few hundred bucks.

Yeah, compared to Mohave, the weather is definitely cooler since the elevation is about 3000 ft higher. I've never had trouble sleeping at night at Powell, but I can remember some miserable hot nights at Mohave!

Hey Deez...
I was looking for ya! We took your advice and went to Kane Wash, first beach entering the canyon on the right. Nice, large camp. Picked up a few hitchhikers from there - found two dead scorpians in our wash once we got home! Also saw a rattler head down to the lake, head out and perch himself on a rock and then head back home! It was pretty cool, but we kept our distance.
Kane was awesome, less crowded than Padre Canyon. Basically had the entire canyon to ourselves - there were only 2 other HB's in there. We had a great trip and wish you'd have remembered your own recommendation!;)
Anyway, next year is right around the corner!
