hooking up a 2 wire alt.

whats the right way of hooking up a 2 wire alt ? does anyone have a diagram on how to hook it up? thanks

I just rehooked mine up. The larger wire goes to the bat. terminal on the starter. The other smaller wire goes to the starter ground (I hooked it to the started case bolt). All works fine for my application.

I think slot's alt. is a marine Motorola w/external regulator. The regulator is a separate box that mounts on the back of the alt. itself. A single pigtail(orange wire if I remeber right) comes out of the reg. box.
Will that help any?

The biggun goes too the batt, the other goes to an ignition source to "excite" the field.

i went to a alternator shop and found out that i had it hooked up
wrong you have to have the batt wire going to the battery direct and not though a breaker it kept kicking the breaker. all is well now.
