Alright Alright.... here they are...
I still have to finish up the scoop tray, just not sure if I want the scoop to sit level with the hull, or with the motor.

Just so everyone knows here is what I gave Todd and you see he matched it perfectly.

I took a photo of the scoop, then printed a light B&W copy, and color penciled in my own design. I didn't have charcoal so I used black for the drawing. Then I took the picture and boat to Todd. Todd matched the colors and I left him the photo. And you all see the end result...
Thanks again Todd, it came out Perfect...

That was the goal... I know I could have had todd do some wild stuff for that scoop, but it wouldn't go as good with the boat as this one does... I wanted it to look like it was painted for the boat pretty close to when the boat was sold new back in 1988.

When are you coming upriver?;)
I'm too slow to hang out at Big River, and I'm too dumb to dodge rocks at Blythe.

I just had this same conversation about an hour ago.
Im mounting mine on the same angle as the carbs.I think it looks weird when one carb is exposed more than the other.
Scoop looks good Todd and Randy.

The other thing too, last time I tried to go to Big River someone stopped me at the entrance and asked for my Dyno sheet. When I explained that I built my motor and estimated power in the low to mid 500's I was escorted from the property by an armed guard. The guard yelled' "We don't allow that kind of trash in here, go back to Needles where you belong, LOSER!" :D

Um.....Does Needles Marina Park know you built your own motor and don't have an authorized dyno sheet??? You may have to go to Bullhead City...... ;)

I split the difference with mine. My Ford sits at such an angle, it woulda looked weird had I not moved the front down some. You can see the valve cover angle when compared to the side of the boat.

It appears Randy's motor doesn't have quite so much angle to it though. Looks good, and another nice job by Todd.
Don't laugh at my rattlecan paint job (please).

your right, but there is no such decal... so I'm on my own.
I think I'm going to make the tray to match the motor angle. Someday I plan on leveling the carbs and when I do, I would just neet to add a spacer to the scoop tray on the back carb verses cutting the bell horns so the scoop matchs the hull. If and when I angled the carbs level, the tray would need a lot more work to make it work...

Looks very good. I like that style scoop the best out of all the fiberglas scoops.
Another vote for keeping the scoop on the same level as the carbs.
Great work Todd.

i think you need councelling(sp?) mang. you are way too hung up on your lack of HP with the half-a-blower motor. :D
Didn't you read the sign on the way into big river that says "rogers welcome anytime."?
