Did you read about the guy that bought a chest at a flea market for 35 bucks and found it full of Beatles memorabilia worth hundreds of thousands of dollars?
All I get is another damn lamp I'll never use.

jeez... I'm boycotted. :(
The best I ever did was buy a painting on the street in New Orleans for fifty bucks. It just appraised for 3500 bucks.
I bought an unopened Beatles album "Meet the Beatles" in Hi-Fi (there's a stereo version right after it) at a flea market decades ago for two bucks and it's s'pose to be worth over 900 now? Not according to ebay though.
I also have an unopened Procol Harum but have no idea what it's worth.

I have a small beer tap handle collection that is probably not worth anything and a huge collection of sport cards that I need to go through, someone got evicted and left them behind.

The posters might be worth something? We all know those old comic books won't bring a dime. Send them to me and I'll give you five bucks. I'm a nice person. :D

Why don't you call Michael Moore and tell him how unfair that was. I'm sure the two of you could convince John Kerry or some other liberal senator to make restitution for the idiot's losses.
Yeah, the government needs to take care of everyone including knuckleheads (no offense to The Knuckleheads here on this board). :D

I have an "Original" New York Times Newspaper from April 1912 the day after ....the headline says "Titanic Sinks". I have the whole year, that and 1931 and 32. My ex husband got it in the archives of Stanford Univ Library when the Earthquake of 89 hit.
Lots of asbestos in the library and they were "throwing" stuff away saying it was contaminated so he brought it home to me.

For a while I had a whole shitload of old magazines. Collier's from the 30's and even the "LIFE" dated Dec. 7th 1941. I left them with my sister who moved and left them behind. Damn... forgot about that.

really, there are two types of people.. those that hoard and those that toss out. Just wondering which you guys are?
My buddy is a hoarder and when he talks about throwing something away I make fun of him by saying hey that trinket might be worth something.... then he can't throw it away.

I guess we're hoarders? We had to buy crap to keep all our crap in. Now we pay storage on a crappy warehouse to keep the crap we bought to store the crap we bought to keep all our crap in.

I knew this person who collected all kinds of stuff ,navy ,airforce and such. He had a book on WWII german aces with their autographs in it. There were many of these old pilots lived around here til recently I've learned. He had a copy of Mein Kampf with Hitler's autograph, valued at over 5K  .
