79 Hondo V-Drive Hydro for sale $7,800.00 Turn Key. Motor just broken in by Tom Papp (he did not build it). He estimates it at 420 - 450 HP. 396 4 bolt main. Steel Crank. 10.1 TRW's. Large Oval Heads. New Valves and Springs. Roller Rockers. 550 Lift Cam. Tunnel Ram. Paint is beautiful with a couple of flaws. Right side has gas stains running forward and a couple of chips. Interior is in real good shape. Casale V-Drive (I think 18 gears). Clever Prop.
The back of the transom is faded a little, but can be buffed out (just the black part, the paint looks good). It has a Competitive Trailer that looks good, with good tires. If interested P.M. me with your #.

Hey Pipe,
Was this boat for sale about 1 year ago but with a blower on it?
Pretty sure it was on Boattrader.com being sold by a broker?
I called on the ad but the broker was going or was out of business and no one knew who the boat's owner was. The whole thing just fizzled away on my.
Just curious. Be good, Jim

This boat is real clean. We ran it in the driveway yesterday and it sounds great, real responsive. This hydro was originally for sale in Florida with a blown 540 in it, I believe it sold for $12,500 originally. It was trucked to cali where the new owner pulled the blower motor out and installed this freshly built 0 hour 396, break in time only (by Tom Papp).
It will make a great river rod for someone.

you should keep it that is such a cool nostalgia boat
-
Ya it's a real nice boat - tons of room which is odd for a hydro
-
the boat in dragboatcity was advertised as a 1983 sanger. but it looks like the same boat....... :argue:

That boat is definately a Hondo. I bet mouzer is drooling.

Not originally. I think he moved the picture and didn't update the wording. It originally had a few pics of the boat with some discriptions.
