This Prospectors Camp?? In Spangler?
The camp is on Searless Road, which is on 395 about 20 miles south of the 395/14 interchange or about 35 miles north of the 395/58 junction. Remember that you can also find complete directions and GPS coordinates on the official Web site: www.SoCalRally.net.
Driving North on 14 (from Mojave, etc.): About a mile past the Jawbone Store, turn right on the Randsburg Road. After about 12 miles, the road forks. Stay on the left fork (called Garlock Road) for 8 miles until you reach 395. Turn left (north) on 395. After about 3 miles, turn right on Searles Road. Stay on this until you reach the train tracks. Make a right turn onto the dirt immediately after the tracks. Follow that for a couple hundred yards and turn left. Go straight for a 1/4 mile and you'll reach a large flat area.
Have you guys thought about the "football feild/Mick City"? It's a cool place and should not have many campers if any at all. It's right off 395 after you get to the top of the hill. Also there is a race out there this week end put on by USDRA.
Here's the spot....
Joe, If you come out, maybe we can ride to check out the spots you mentioned......
