Technically, no a JE is not a performance pump. That said, if you do or have done some modifications, that pump will perform quite nicely in most boats. If you are going racing or want to go 95 MPH you will probably need a different pump. I have a JE in my boat and after some mods by HI-TECH Performance I picked up about 10 MPH. I went from 66 to 74+ MPH. I put on a set of headers also.

Tim If you are running in the 50s 60s you are ok, It is a sound pump, if you are wanting to run 80s I recommend a Haard set Intake pump. Pressures can change your bottom and can affect the pumps performance. Not a lot is made for this pump beyound its recreational usage. Yet that is what it was designed for! Pops @ Aggressor jets
