I am installing some speakers in the back by the pool and want to burry the cable. Any reason I can't use low voltage 12g landscape light wire? Stuff is designed to be burried and should have plenty of current capacity. Its copper stranded and well insulated. Looks very similar to some monster speaker cable I have as far as the wire gauge goes.

I think you should go pay $5 a foot for monster cable just to be safe. :p
Plug it in and see how it sounds. If it sounds good to you, go for it.

I used it at my house works great just make sure its stranded not solid core

Ya, shit can get expensive and prolly won't hold up to the elements.
I hooked some up in a test run and it works fine. I was mostly worried about frying the Dennon receiver over extended use.

Bump...anyone else? Sounds like it should be OK.

Yes it's fine. I'm using it. I also run a switch box so I can use one receiver and choose where I want the sound in the house or yard.

You won't fry your receiver with a long run of cable, regardless of the resistance. It will be fine.
