Looks like a U-joint bearing but I'm not missing any, and haven't rebuilt it.
The only thing I have done is swap jets. Does this thing belong inside the shaft housing? Could it have fallen out from somewhere during swap?
I noticed some noise, but it just sounded like normal u-joint slop and goes away at 1000-1200 rpm.
I rebuilt the engine a year ago but ripped out everything and cleaned the hull... I would have found it!
Stamped on the back: "INA BCH 06604 USA"
HELP!

I can't really tell from the pic, but have you changed the crank lately? Looks like it could be a clutch pilot bearing from the center hole of the crank. It could have been loose it there for a while and fell out when you pulled the drive line.............Just a guess.................MP

Did a simple search--- alt bearing!!!!!!! Budlight PS. check your alt rear bearing.

Maybe it fell out of your starter or altenator or someone threw it in there.
