Didn't want them to end up as piano keys. Cabelas made an offer I couldn't refuse. All 180 pounds of them. They will embace the entrace to the Gun Library at the upcoming Cabelas in Reno NV. Look for them if you go.

God I hope no one ever cuts those up.. Even though I have quite a bit of ivory in some of my pool cues. Uncut tusks like that are absolutely beautiful. I can't imagine how much their worth, especially with the price of REAL Ivory nowdays.

Did you harvest them yourself. I would love to hear the story if so.

Lots of us up north are waiting impatiently for that store to open. The rumors I hear are that it is going to be out near Boomtown just off of I-80. I saw some dirt work being done out that way a couple of weeks ago and hope this is a good sign.
I will definitely look for them.
I will no doubt spend a heck of a lot more in Cabelas than I would all the casinos combined...

Yes, along with a whole lot of other animals. ( Rhino, Lion, Hippo, leopard Capes on and on. Enough to fill a small house after it was over)
Short story is it was a father son hunting Safari ( I being the Son). We camped in the bush for a month hunting or tracking almost everyday. We had air drops for basic supplies every 7-10 days or so. We also had 2 trucks, supplies, fuel, brought in over land at the start of the trip which was 3 days off road ( truely off road) from Nairobi. No humans for at least 3 days away or 2 hours by bush plane. I shot a 7MM where if I missed we ate no meat for Dinner. My Dad shot a 378 where if he missed we would have become dinner :D :D

Never been to one of those stores.

Try the new Bass Pro Shops in Vegas (actually off the 15). There's also one going in up in Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. Those stores have everything for fishing and hunting. Just got a bag from them just last Thursday... :)
