We did it! Chevrolet is Americas #1 selling vehicle. Thanks to your
outstanding efforts, Chevrolet sold more vehicles than any other brand in
the industry for the 2005 calendar year. Please accept my heartfelt
congratulations and gratitude for all you did to secure the sales
championship for the bowtie division.
Your efforts, especially during the later part of December, were
phenomenal. In December 2005, Chevrolet posted an industry-leading 231,628
total sales. This total edged out Ford Division by 8,304 deliveries for
the month of December and ensured our victory. For the 2005 calendar year,
Chevrolet sales totaled 2,669,932 vehicles and exceeded Ford Divisions
total by 21,118 deliveries. Simply stated, Chevrolet is the best-selling
brand in the America for the first time since 1986.
To sum it all up, I would like to quote part of a statement made by Bob
Lund and John DeLorean explaining the outstanding sales results Chevrolet
posted in the 1971 calendar year:
It is the result of the largest, finest network of dealers in the nation.
It is the result of the diligent efforts of many thousands of people who
make up the Chevrolet organization. But most of all, it is a result of
millions of consumers who recognized the value built into all Chevrolets.
This statement rings just as true for our win today as it did way back in
1971. Enjoy and celebrate our big win. Please extend my sincere thanks
to each member of your team. You once again proved that Chevrolet has the
finest dealer network in America.
Sincerely,
Edward J. Peper Jr.
