Pop star Britney Spears marched down the aisle in Las Vegas on Saturday, marrying a childhood friend from Louisiana, according to news reports.

The 22-year-old diva married Jason Allen Alexander early Saturday at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, according to People.com, the online arm of the Time Warner publication. He is from Kentwood, La., the same city as Spears.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on its Web site that Spears, 22, and Alexander, 22, were granted a marriage license, citing an affidavit of Application for Marriage License filed Jan. 3. A photo of the signed marriage license was obtained by The Associated Press.
Calls to Spears' representatives were not immediately returned.
However, a source close to the pop star told People.com it was all a joke that went too far, and that Spears is already making plans to annul the marriage.
The source told People.com: "I don't know what's going through her mind."
People.com reported that Spears and Alexander journeyed to the Little White Wedding Chapel after a stop at the Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel. It reported that the chapel staff told the couple that they couldn't get married without a license, so they were reportedly taken by the limo to the Clark County Marriage Bureau office in the downtown Las Vegas courthouse. They applied for and were granted the marriage license, then driven back to the chapel, where they were married.
The bride wore jeans and baseball cap, according to People.com, and had a hotel bellman walk her down the aisle. There were no friends or family in attendance.
The whole thing was videotaped by the chapel, and Spears has been showing the world's craziest wedding video to friends, People.com reported.
"I don't even know if she loves him," a source told People.com.
People.com said the honeymoon took place back at a luxury suite at the Palms immediately after the wedding. Then, Saturday night, People.com said Spears dined with her manager, her brother, Palms owner George Maloof and a couple of friends at a hotel steakhouse.

There are also reports that on New Year's Eve Spears had to be carried out of a Vegas nightclub after drinking too much champagne.
Onlookers at the Rain nightclub, in the swanky Palms Hotel, claim Britney's minders had to carry her out and put her to bed in her $10,000 a night penthouse suite.
