I have heard all the big names as far a quick flats/runners go....Cole, Canyon, Hondo, Mako, etc. but as I look through the classifieds over at dragboats.com (which I enjoy doing), I keep seeing Rick Bitz. Hydros, Flats, Molds, old boats on trade in that he is asking too much money for (IMHO of course http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif ) and I just thought I would see what the story is on this guy. Does he build good boats? Fast? Are they competitive on the drag circuit? How long has he been around. Etc. Thanks in advance for the information.

He builds great boats. But good luck getting it. I have seen them called Waylates instead of Bitz on sponser cards.

When I bought a boat from him, I actually got the boat after some railroading bullshit. Other friends have not been so lucky. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/frown.gif

NJBA had a Bitz boat that moved good. I believe Brad Simmons drove it? He had one too many close calls on the big end so the driving suit was hung up for good. Which is smart on his part because Boat racing has anybody's number, its just a matter of time.

So your saying the guy likes to take your money and then not give you the boat....
Anyone know how long he has been around and if the boats are fast or not?

Two different Bitz Flats have been IHBA PGF Champions, so yes they can be fast if setup properly.
