Tahiti Tiger
Rodney Bahner was one of the worst boat builders I've ever seen. His early stuff, like the one your looking at, was ok, nothing special. The smartest thing he ever did was to splash the Rogers bottom...
just got nothin' to say. :D
Here in so cal your free to rent what used to be the home of drag boat racing, Marine Stadium...right behind Bako, from the city and do with it what you please. As long as you comply to the rules...
This is the one I was thinking of, the other two are somewhat different, aren't they?
whoops, my mistake. I meant to post this one, the original Rayson 1963 model kit.
The other two are the Hemi...
Yeah, they all come from the old, 1963 AMT kit of a Rayson Craft...not a Stevens. ;)

thats awesome, i'll take two...
btw, doesnt howard leave their boats in the mold for quite a while? i dont think a month, but at least a week or so.....
i talked to a boat guy about this one...
That's true, it never stops curing. But it's the resin (and gel coat) that never stops curing, not the glass.
Don't know at what age it loses its integrity, but I'd think twice about grabbibng a...
Those are beautiful molds. :)

The better shops I worked at, the parts sat at least a week in the molds once the lamanation schedule was reached,...
Yes, Howard offered an exact splashed spectra 24 in his line up and no, he didn't give a shit or try to 'calm down the boys at Spectra' by changing his boats. In fact he called Spectra as soon as the...
Curt Brayer built that Dancing Bear in '65, from his own design. :)

... the gel coat is definately jacked up because i saw it two years ago and it the cap had cracked on both sides of the bow from running into stuff. the bottom was jacked from running over rock bars...
He was a hell of a salesman. ;)
The 20.5 makes and excellent open bow and we probably did more open than closed back in the 80's at Advantage. Very popular package.
The storage area you'll end up with is pretty nice. If I remember...
Anybody notice the yellow boat in the extreme foreground of the photo? See any resemblance??????????????????
Yeah, they probably only made one those with that color combo. ;)
Reminds me when...
30 years ago when Tahiti owned the title as 'worlds fastest jet' (that still cracks me up) no one wanted to race against Clark in this boat because it would change lanes at will at the far end of...
guitarchaz, if you look on the flyer that carribbean posted, you'll see that the 'official' length of your boat is 20' 2", probably why it got printed on your registration as 22. Someone along the...
Carribbean,
By the time your boat was made by Hardin they not only owned the Carribean name but Tahiti too. So when they bought out tahiti, they got all the old molds as well....
xero, your videos are the best!
I'm always in awe on how fast you guys run, the handleling of your boats and of course the sound of the engines running wideopen for those loooooong stretches of...
A friend of mine had a boat that looked damn near identical to that one, except with an outboard on it. It had a center steer set-up, & the guy he bought it from said it had been converted from a...
That's a 20.5 foot long boat, not a 22. We had those molds at Advantage, in fact I think they still offer the boat in their line up. Great little hull, does everything well. We even built 3 or 4 of...
Thats the same hull as the Tahiti Super Cruiser right?
Nope, the Moonraker botom is, as well as the whole boat for that matter, Omega. That's who tooled it up and that's who we splashed. The Tahiti...
Well one thing i notice about this pic,...Wayne, of old hawaiian boats (Wich ever one he is involved with, old or new hawaiian) is the guy in the grey sweatshirt, dont know what affiliation he is...
Hotrodguy,
Your 520" is putting out a hell of a lot more than 500HP if it can push that 21' to nearly 80 mph.
I agree, but lets not for get that this is a very small and narrow 21 foot boat. It has...
