The edelbrocks were designed for stock valve train. So yes you can. I prefer using an adjustable rocker on the hydraulic cams.
Thats a big chamber head.... Why?
How much was cut off the piston?
How deep in the hole is it?
What size valve reliefs are in the pistons?

I called a guy out here called Bob Mazalinni. He said i had to run adjustable rockers. The stock wont work with a cam with higher than stock lift. On why so big on the heads...I did not know they had smaller cc heads...The pistions i know nithing about.. Its a 77 or so cast motor with stock pistons.. I think...I turnrd the motor over by hand and heard nothing.but with the lifters not pumped up.. i dont know...

You can run the stock stamped rockers but you might have to use an adjustable push rod if your lifter preload is not where it should be. Crane makes ductile iron rockers and push rods that work very well and are not too much money, I run them on my blown motor and have never had a problem.

don't they still make a shim kit for the rocker shaft to decrease lifter preload? But a good set of rockers makes it much nicer and a more correct rocker ratio giving all the actual lift and duration
