thanks all for the words, I will pass them along. She will deeply appreciate the prayers and thoughts as she comes from a strong Catholic family and believes they make a difference also. They briefly spoke for a moment on Satellite phone. He told her he loved her and not to worry about him. He's currently on his way to Germany to get evaluated and then straight on to Walter Reed burn center in DC or another facility in San Antonio for immediate treatment.
There was a brief story on foxnews about it earlier. Unfortunately IMO a Major made an irresponsible comment that "they were gonna be fine" His wife read it and got her hopes that it really wasn't that bad, only to have them dashed 15mins later when the Colonel called and upgraded it 3rd and now 4th degree burns on his face and body. I appreciated the Colonel's straight forward approach that it was bad. Last thing she needs is any more letdowns.
For anyone that want's to send stuff to the troops, I will get you an address and person to address it to. I have the address but it must be addressed to a specific person otherwise it will not get handed out. They really do appreciate stuff from home. They generally go out for 2-4 weeks on a mission and then spend 1-2 weeks behind the wire. Where they have access to DVD player in one tent. They can pretty much have anything but pork and pornography. Latest CD's, Wet knaps, beef jerky and vitamins or candy (to hand out to kids while on patrol, it really makes them feel better to be around kids) seem to be the most asked for items.
thanks again all. I have 100% faith they will come out of this fine on the other end as they love each other unconditionally. HeÂ’ll be back on the water or clearing triples all in time.
