It was not the K-flat that made that run!!!!! It was #567 Nighthawk - Blown Alcohol Hydro.
Made the 157mph bridge to bridge run at 1:30 Saturday in Old Sacramento.
The Nighthawk is owned and driven by Dave Kiker....Redding, Ca

That guy is a mad man for going that fast in a lakeboat, get me a capsule for those speeds.

Did he win the deal with that pass? Or did some Nortech, Skater or whatever take the win?
It would be so sweet to see all those High Buck rigs get shut down by an old hydro.

There was not an actual win......the event was more a Show 'N
Shine. But he did set a new record on the river with the 157mph.
It was a sweet, smooth run......Totally awesome.

Dmontszta, there was a time when capsules were not required. back in the day, my friend Gerry did 187mph in a hydro...no capsule.
He also lost three racer friends in two months (and immediately quite racing); capsules became part of the deal.
If you look closely at the boat above, it is indeed blown and injected and safety gear and even a parachute, etc. That ain't no lakeboat.

To me it is a lake boat anything that fast with no capsule you would not catch me in it.
