I'm selling a set of fully ported DOVE-C heads for 350 bucks. When I worked in a machine shop I used to charge upwards of 300 per head for sprint car motors. I'd charge someone a hundred bucks and a case of beer for porting BB Ford heads and flow testing them. Teh ones I have in my truck right now flow over 300 cfm @.550 lift. Any takers?
are those bare ? what valve size are they cut for and how many sets do you have ?
I have one set, with stock valves and springs. Can cut them for any valve size you want. I'd replace the springs/valves as they are old and not hi-perf.
mister460 how much would it cost for new valves and springs? also is the valve job fresh or would i need to pay for that as well? where are you? (shipping costs)
Really depends on what you want to use for valves and springs. Just take a look through a Summit or JEGS catalog and buy the best valves you can afford. Springs? It depends entirely on what cam you'rerunning and what rpm you want to spin. Don't go over 145 lbs of seat pressure with a hydraulic cam. Just use the springs that the cam manufacturer recomends. They do need the seats ground but that isn't much of a cost. I'd do for you if you REALLY wanted but it'd be better if you had it done at a local shop because of warranty stuff(IF anything did go wrong) or other unforseen mishaps. That way we wouldn't have to deal with the pain of sending 140 lbs of iron back and forth. But I'll be happy to port, polish, deck, and flow test the heads for $350 plus shipping. I'm in 29 Palms, CA. Area code 92278. The heads weigh 72 lbs apiece. Let me know what you want to do.
