Thread: Trailer GVWR Question?

I am looking at a trailer that doesn't have a sticker on it with the GVWR.
Is there any other markings or way that I can tell what the GVWR is on it?
    It's a single axle.
    Does tire size affect GVWR?
    Thanks.

Does tire size affect GVWR? not so much as GVWR affects tire size.......check the load range on the tires, that should give you a starting point.

A trailer/RV shop can look at the axle and springs and tell you what they are rated for, when I had to replace a spring they asked me if it was a 3500lbs. or a bunch of other numbers and I didn't have a clue, they looked at it and by the number of leafs and length of the spring told me all sorts of things, and if the frame is 4" C or box or 6" makes a difference too,

Manuel has given you good advice. The suspension would be the most important part, number of leaves in the springs, axle rating etc. I had my utility trailer rebuilt (overbuilt) and they told me the suspension could now hold more than the framework.....
Take it to a trailer place and they will tell you.
