What exactly do marine shops do??? I perform regular maintenance (oil, lube, batteries, plugs and stuff) but is there any particular reason I need to do it if I keep regular care of my boat?
If so, can anyone recommend a shop in Parker? I have a 350 Mag w/ a Bravo 1. Also, what's the average bill for it??
    Thanks.

Depends on how good the shop is. Really good shops do more then just the basic fluid changes. Some of the stuff they do beyond fluids/filters are drive alignments, computer diagnosis of historical and current motor condition, send the engine and drive oil out for analysis, dyno to motor to make sure it puts out at least rated power, fuel injection cleaning, water impeller change, test the accuracy of your tach, flush the closed cooling heat exchanger, check fuel pressure, check all hoses & fittings & belts, check condition of batteries, alternator, lube steering, check for proper trim tab operation, etc....Bottom line its much more comprehensive

They should perform at least the following:
    Oil change with new filter
    New fuel/water separator filter
    Change the drive oil
Top off all other fluids and check for any leaks
Check drive alginment and replace all "O" rings
    Replace impeller and/or housing
    Lube all zerk fitting
Function test motor, drive, trim tabs, and all related equipment
Price varies greatly from one shop to another.

Make sure you have them re-torque the gimbal ring on your bravo, very costly to replace, I know first hand. :frown: Mark
