hey roostwear the link you gave me has different #s then what i found. the # i found on the block is#4Y876420 ON THE BACK OF THE BLOCK SMOOTH AREA COULDNT FIND any other # that looked like casting # where can i find them# im a chevy guy and pulled this motor for my 66 ford pu cover says 460 but the truck i pulled it out of was not the stock truck for the motor. thanks Ty
Block casting # should be on the right bank below cyl #4 above the freez plugs.

The 429/460 Engineering revision number on the block is located directly behind the starter motor and reads vertically up the passenger-side cylinder bank.

ok thanks for the help! but mite need a little more!the casting # i found buy where the starter goes is D1VE-A2B so buy the chart if i reed it correct the motor is a 429/460 or429CJ. 1968-70 by the D1VE#what does the -A2B mean and how do i tell what one i have?thanks Ty

It is a 71 block. Is the motor apart or the heads off? you can measure the stroke to see what you have since the 29 and the 60 have the same bore or you can look at the crank if you have the pan off.
