1981 23' Daycruiser- a little more than 280 HP, and a little more than the stock 45MPH. Only 9 hours on the new engine. Hustler has seen it float! http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy34.gif

If you can find your Hull ID number (mine is on the right side of the transom, behind the swim step) enter the first three letters into the box on this site, and it will tell you who built it.

If you can't find it on your boat, try looking on the pink slip or registration. Good luck! Dan
    ps- where are you located?

Hate the Volvo- no performance parts available! I put a Hydromotive nose cone on, and will be installing external hydraulic steering this winter (alot of wheel torque now). http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy16.gif
Taking it kinda easy (cause the break-in), I was able to spin my 23" 3-blade stainless to 5,000RPMs once. That's probably close to 60MPH (no GPS). http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy30.gif
Yeah, the Bravo was patterned after the old Volvos, so I've heard they're pretty bulletproof- although I will be the guinea pig with my horsepower- I'm the only guy dumb enough to hop up a Volvo, that I know of. http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...rolleyes02.gif
Just don't hit anything- ask Driveless (http://free.***boat.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000132.html)! http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...s/scared04.gif
Us big, old, heavy, daycruiser guys need to stick together (I'm talking about the boats- Dankirk)! http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy01.gif

That boat is EXACTLY the same as Poon Tang III. Poontang (whom hasn't been on the board in a little while) should know what kind of boat it is. I was talking to PapaPoon and for some reason I remember it being a SleekCraft or a Carrera or something to that effect. In any event it has the same front windshield etc... (Except Papapoon put a sunroof in his right behind the windshield http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif )
I'll drop him an e-mail and let you know.

GlassDave ,it looks like an Omega 23 foot daycruiser.Don't change to jet, this boat is too heavy for a jet unless you have 500HP+.

Yeah, my motor was pulled a little over 450HP on the dyno, but over 460 ft-lbs of torque, so I guess I'd better be careful. http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...confused46.gif
Yep, I had to replace all the floors and stringers first year I had the boat. Not fun, but at least I got to put a ski locker in that wasn't there before! Hey, I'm a "half full" guy. Make sure you seal the transom good, or water in the bilge will come back to bite you a few years down the road. Been there, rotten that. http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/forum/smilies/mad39.gif
Nose cone was a pain- I would NEVER do it again. I will PAY someone to have it done. Hydromotive made backfilling sound easy- it wasn't. I was told that the 280 gearcase may get blowout around 60MPH, so I put it on. It's already cracking near the bottom (the fill). I was told that to prevent that, it should be welded on, not epoxy. But then, you would have to pull the internals & seals, & be careful not to warp the case.
Hey rivercrazy, thanks for the kind words. It's tough to make people understand the blood, sweat, tears, time, and MONEY it takes to restore something like that, unless you've been there! http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy14.gif
