I am in the process of purchasing a Holley 830 (9381) that is fitted with a 50cc accelerator pump. It will probably need to be rebuilt and re-jetted.
I am currently running a pretty much stock 468 with a Weiand 5981 Tunnel Ram with 2 Holley 600's. I want to change out the TR to a dual-plane manifold (Weiand WND-8013 or Edelbrock Performer EDL-2162) or a single-plane manifold (Dart DRT-41214000) and then I will replace the 600's with the signle 830 Holley. However, within the next year I would like to increase my HP to about 500 - 550 by changing the following:
1. Comp Cam with a 292 Hydraulic Camshaft (244/246) duration at .050" lift .568/.578 110 Lobe
2. Pocket ported oval heads with 117cc chambers fitted with 2.19" intake and 1.88" exhaust valves.
3. MSD 6M
The current RPM's are 4800 but I don't think the RPM's will be greater than 5400 or 5500 after the build with an A or A/B Imp.
I don't think I should have any problems but just wanted some imput.
The following are the questions I have:
Will I have problems using the same 830 Holley for both applications?
Should I use a stock jetting or what?
Is the Holley to big for my stock set-up or too small for the later build what would be your suggestions?
I am thinking with the RPM's I will be running I should go with a dual-plane manifold any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jerry
