Yup! Using longer rods!
I ran tall decks in the drag cars and the boats because it let me use a .400 long rod with a shelf standard pin height piston (like a trw.) Cheap and easy way to get the rod/stroke angle to 427 territory which softened the leave (less down pedal in a boat/ better traction in the car) and a little happier in the upper RPM range.
Bad parts are you are carrying extra weight (.400 taller deck of cast iron) distributor heights/tall deck manifolds or spacer plates.
