Thread: O/T Import vs Domestic drags

Our local dragstrip had an import vs. domestic show Saturday night. Lot of bling and 14 second Accords, a whole lot of cars, just not a lot to get wound up about Most of the cool stuff was domestic!
90's Camaro. Made a lot of noise, but couldn't get it down the track

Don't know what the heck this is! Did a wild burnout then puked on the staging lanes!

That Green Camaro was at the Checker Auto Parts store by my house Saturday morning in Gilbert. Small world.

Where were all the 9 second rice burners everyone talks about (but never see)?

I was wondering the same thing. I might not be a big fan of the ricers, but anything that runs under 10 seconds deserves some respect! Saw maybe two 11 second imports. Didn't stay all night though. So many of these guys had never been on the track and kept going past the starting line to stage. The announcer had a blast with them

That would have been cool. Alcohol or nitro? Was the picture the NHRA race at Sonoma?
    They had this CIFCA car

In the early 90's I remember John Carrey ran a Top Fueler in the NHRA. He showed up at the Firebird event with a second car. A blown diesel dragster, he had a diesel repair shop in Delaware I think. Thought I had a picture of it running. Went pretty good, don't recall ET, but a LOT of black smoke
