KF when they tested me it was at 4500 rpm's at about 40-50 ft :boxed:
On my db meter(actually belongs to the local S.O.), is the "A" scale more or less sensitive then the "B" scale etc? I can't see that much difference between the two.
This was check at around 5-6' behind the boat standing about even height with the headers. - 3000 rpm 96db with mufflers.

the A scale is more sensitive because it reads what is considered to be the range of greatest sensitivity to the human ear
I wouldn't necessarily say that the "A" scale is more sensitive. It's just that it's tuned to what the human ear hears, rather some sub-audible or high frequency sounds.

"NO LAKE HAVASU MARINA FOR YOU!"
Alan is right... the following is from a Stanford University paper on noise:
The db(A) Scale
In an attempt to develop a noise measuring scale more responsive to these characteristics of the ear, the "A" scale was defined to weight noise at frequencies above 1000 Hz more heavily. Noise measured on this scale is given in units of db(A).
The full paper - while applying to aircraft noise - is available: Here (http://adg.stanford.edu/aa241/noise/noise.html)
Ok thanks for the info. I will have to go back and check it again.
BTW this is at an idle on the "B" scale with the mufflers in. I would think it would pass on the "A" scale also.

Which Mufflers are ya running Mike? Just curious as to what it will take to get it to pass the new laws

These are the ones I made out of auger flighting. They are almost the full length of the collector. There is also about a 400rpm drop.
Alan is right
Of course I'm right! What else would you expect? :yuk:

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! Of course you're right. Wanna test my screams?
