Wow, Looks like you are lucky to still have a boat!
Bummer. The plan was to not run the boat hard this weekend at all, so I could run Bakersfield next weekend.
I kept my foot out of it all weekend, till this morning, and I just did a few burnouts and some 1/8 mile stuff to test my new impeller, and she let go after a semi hard run. :frown: Not happy. Heres pics..

Thanks to Riodog for helping me out.
I honestly thought she was going down, I had alot of water in the boat after it blew apart.
Thanks for a fun weekend everyone.
Wow, Looks like you are lucky to still have a boat!
Hey...you're lucky there was a bowl on there holding that thing together.
Thin casting? Are you running a pump support?
Now you're where I was last time we went to Ming. Get off the 'puter and get to work! I'm sure you know someone who has another suction piece laying around.
Ya Im lucky to have a boat for sure. You wouldn't believe how fast it filled up with water. It was up to the seat frame in seconds. I headed straight for shore, and the leaking wasn't too bad after I shut it down.
Steel, yes probably a thin, poor casting. I believe the older housings like this one are thinner than the newer ones. Im going to weigh out ALL of my options before I get a new one.
Oh yes, it may be another thrash.
CS19,
It looks like you did some thinning of your own on that suction piece. A bit of smoothing I mean. I am glad you got it out safely. You say the older ones are thinner that is not good. There are a lot of older ones on the water too. Now get to work.
Jim
CS19,
Is everything else OK ????
Jim
cs19,
Didn't you just break a handhole cover?????
Jim :coffeycup
I didnt thin it out, I only removed the casting flaws, etc.Thats not why it broke.
Yes I broke a HH cover in Needles a while back as well.
Everything else in the jet was perfect.
If there were things I could do, Id be doing them, I need parts before I can proceed.
Chris, you musta been turnin wrenches like a mad man to get that thing apart that fast !
I dont mess around. Its been out for a few hours already
Thanks for the billet back scratcher. Those are cool.
Ill keep in touch.
cs19,
Thats why I corrected myself, and said SMOOTHING. I hate that it happend to ya. I am glad you all had a good time.
