Is that the same hull as a Tahiti, do you know??
It's time to let her go - FOR SALE - 1974 18 ft Glencoe Modified Vee. This boat has been completely gone through, is turn key and ready for the river. I've spent the last 4 1/2 years getting this baby up to speed, don't want to let her go but am in need of something a little bigger. This boat is sweet, rides like a caddy through the chop, and has plenty of giddyup. Boat is currently stored indoors at the river in Arizona. No problem bringing it home for serious buyers for a test drive or we can meet up at the river. Asking $7000.00/OBO. Feel free to ask any details that I may not have covered.

rippingnolegskroker,
My understanding is that it's a splash of a rogers, minus the full length stringers.
Sure looks like that Weiman I was looking at. OR said the bottom was a Tahiti splash.

dilligaf,
Thanks, FWIW, Greg Shoemaker told me that he himself owned a Glencoe and said it was a good hull and he had lots of fun in it. Shoemaker did the pump, the block was set in by myself and my bud's dad, he's an old boat hound. Most of work done on boat was by myself and many, many friends, same goes for trailer.
Why are you calling it a modified V hull ??? The mod V hulls have tunnels or a wing shape of some type. Baker, Bahner or like Cyclones boat. Just asking, not meaning any harm.
Jim
Hey nice looking boat, not meaning to steal your thread; just wondering where I can get one of these long tall swept back ski tows?

Hey dilligaf, (and whoever is curious)
Glencoe made several hulls designs in the early 70's in So Cal.
!8 ft, 19 ft. mini days & 21 ft daycruisers were their specialties.
Most of their boats were made to custom order. Our daycruiser was good
quality, but we kept visiting as they were building it to
ensure they didn't cut any corners. (which they were known to do)
They were somewhat less expensive than Spectra or Schiada
at the time. Our daycruiser was a tank on the water. Solid but s..l..o..w..
Usually they used Olds engines for power, so none of the hulls were
very fast. Ours had a built chevy, but thru a jacuzzi pump in the 70's
power was limited. (kinda like "tinkling" instead of "peeing like a race horse")
Resale on them wasn't good back then cause you could buy a new one
for less than what ya' had invested in your used one. (times have changed)
This one for sale looks sweet. I'm wondering though, with the Chevy
how fast will it run?
Squirtin Thunder,
FWIW, guy I purchased it from described it as a modified v, and many others who have seen it have called it the same, not sure if it's right, always made sense to me figuring they were describing the fact that it wasn't a flatbottom.
Hot Rod Sprint,
The ski tow comes from rex, chrome bbc ski tow.
