HP 500 Question

Does anyone know if you have to perform the 300 hour service on the HP 500 EFI? I was informed by a few people that the older HP 500 carb version required new valve springs and a couple other things at 300 hours. Is this true with the EFI?

Don't have first hand experience, but I have read on other boards that it is a good idea.
