Typing that is. Why? Our beautiful kitty is sitting on the desk, and I'm petting her as I write this. She's thirteen years old , and kidney failure has almost won.
I never had a cat until kitty showed up, and I have enjoyed her presence. Right now she is sitting on top of our bills and other paperwork, flipping her tail while I pet her.
Fonda has been giving her Ringer's Lactate IV's for several months but the benefit has seen diminishing results.
We have been feeding her special food to assist her kidney function but in the last few days she has practically stopped eating.
It's almost over. But I'm making the most of it. I have a beautiful kitty under my right hand, and she is purring loudly......

rrr I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I went through the same thing 2 years ago with our kitty and kidney failure. We had to do IV's every other day and it about killed me. She finally had to be put to sleep and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Lost one to a car to but I had no control over that so even though it was bad it did not hurt has much as the other. I feel for you and the family and kitty.

As hard as it is for us, sometimes its better to put them out of their pain and let them rest in pease and comfort.
Its so hard not to be selfish, not to keep them here with us, make them hold on to that last leg of hope, because we know they will if we are routing for them.
But we have to think of our little babies comfort first. :frown:

Good Morning. I can't agree more. But it still hurts. And not having children I get way to attached to my animals. I went as far talking to a specialist for the kitty with Kidney failure. But nothing could be done. And you are so right she is in a better place now and pain free.

I would have done the same thing. My animals are treated better them some peoples children. And to me they are worth it
And Good Morning to you to sunshine!

Sorry to hear about your cats condition. Enjoy her while you can...
My daughters boyfriend just gave her a small fluffy kitten. We named her Madeline (I call her Madison) She will come up and sit on the keyboard and play with the arrow on the screen....LOL :rollside: Our other cat Charlotte didn't like her at first, but now they are good friends and she is always cleaning the kitten.

I've got a 14 year old meowie that I dearly love. She can't really meow properly, she squeaks...cutest thing ever. We found her running down the side of the road, she hopped into a prickly pear cactus, I rescued her (with a few scars), then she promptly crawled up into my 1968 Mustang and sat between the bellhousing and the firewall. I had to pull the engine and drop the tranny down to get her out. It was a good thing I had just put the engine in there a day before. I was pissed, but she was so small she fit in my hand.
It sounds as if you've had a great benefit on her life and she's rewarded you as well. Kidney failure is a horrible thing, but, remember, when it's time to go, she'll go. A great life she's had with you and you've been better for it.
It's hard to let go, there's never a good time, just remember her purring.

rrrr, so sorry to hear about your lovable little furball. I know how you feel, we have several of the little creatures running around. Its so easy to get attached to them. Keep petting her, she will go to kitty heaven knowing you loved her.
